Hola hola everybody!
Can you believe it's the last day of September? I sure can't. Time flies. You might even say the years go by as quickly as a wink ;)
I guess ill start off this week by saying that the Book of Mormon videos are so cool. So cool! It's fun to see a new perspective on the stories of people that I love learning from. It's another way to make the scriptures more real. but as it is with all books turned movie, the book is better so don't forget to read the original! :) But what a fun tool to use. I'm always amazed at the high class and quality of stuff the church does. They put forth their best effort every time
We had a conference for our international zone this week (all Spanish and Portuguese assigned missionaries). It was inspiring and motivating as always. For our lunch we had Colombian food so sister Vargas was as happier than happy having the food of her homeland.
Some good ideas to think about from international conference are:
- Setting goals that are worth your full commitment and then being committed to those goals
- Taking steps into "God's territory" when we make adjustments to walk more fully on the covenant keeping path we are walking into God's territory, the best place to be
-improve your "Primary Greatness" the quality of your character, things like: being slow to take offense, having good self talk, having a low need of outside validation of your worth, being mindful, and having a heart full of gratitude
-asking yourself "What is the Spirit teaching me" as you study and go about your day
- be open, happy, and respectful about your beliefs
Each conference is awesome and each time I come away with a million ideas. With General Conference this weekend we will probably get a million more ideas because the Lord wants to help us in every possible way so a recommendation to you from this little georgia peach is:
take notes, list the things you want to take action on, patiently pray to prioritize your list into achievable
actions, then act and keep acting
Hard days come and hard days go but if we just keep going we'll soon find that we can do what the Lord requires with a joyful, hopeful, heart. Adam fell that men might be and men are that the might have joy.
